If you’re concerned about saying the wrong thing or want to know how to talk to and comfort someone nearing the end of life or grieving the death of a loved one, we can help.

Compassionate Conversations is an awareness training session delivered by Hospice Education, St Helena's joint education programme with St Elizabeth Hospice in Ipswich and will give you the skills and confidence to enable open, honest and sensitive conversations around end of life and bereavement. 

These events are held both online and in person. Book onto one of these events using the form below, selecting your chosen date. 

Spaces are limited and allocated on a first come, first served basis.

What will Compassionate Conversations cover?

  • Breaking down taboos and myths about dying, death and bereavement and normalising responses to loss
  • How to have honest and compassionate conversations with people who are living with illness or people who are bereaved
  • Identifying ways to help and support others through support services
  • How Compassionate Communities are making a difference through simple acts of kindness

Please note places for these free sessions are limited and usually fully subscribed. We request that you let us know if for any reason you become unavailable to attend, as soon as possible, to enable others to attend instead. Email compassionatecommunities@sthelena.org.uk
