After a five year hiatus, St Helena Hospice’s Midnight Walk returns on Friday 27th September with a NEON theme and promises to be better than ever! 

Light up the streets as you walk with hundreds of local people all raising money to make sure St Helena Hospice can be there for the people you love when they need us.  

This year the party has a brand new venue and two new routes as we'll be starting and finishing at the home of Colchester United, the JobServe Community Stadium.

Dress in your brightest colours for this year's neon theme and take on either a 4 mile or 9 mile route through the streets of Colchester. Both routes will pass St Helena Hospice on Barncroft Close in Highwoods where you can pause at our memory stop.

Anyone over the age of 11 can take part and we invite everyone to join us, whether you’re walking yourself, as a group or family, with your friends or as a couple. All are welcome!

By taking part in Midnight Walk, you can help us support more people in our local community, so they can live their lives with compassion, dignity, and choice until the very end.

Registration opens anytime from 7pm and walkers are due to set off from the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester at 10pm. We do ask that all walkers arrive in good time of the walk starting.  

Please note there will also be a full event village kicking off the evening from 7.00pm, including a Glass and Lego Walk, performers, glitter station, food stalls and more!

What is the Midnight Walk?
Midnight Walk is a walking party around Colchester, in aid of St Helena Hospice.  

All walkers are invited to dress up with our theme for 2024 being neon party! Be bright and colourful in aid of St Helena as supporters will walk through the streets of Colchester to light up the night.
What date is the event?
This year Midnight Walk will take place on the evening of Friday 27th September.
Where does it start and finish?
The event will start and finsih from the home of Colchester United Football Cllub at the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester.
How do I sign up?
Follow the sign up link on the website where it will take you to our ‘Enthuse’ Platform for registration. Its easy and simple to use. 
What are the registration fees?

Early Bird = £12.00 

Adult Ticket (18yrs+) = £18.00 

Junior Ticket (11-17yrs) = £5.00 

Groups of 6 or more people = 15% discount applied  

Midnight Walk Hero = £45.00 – no sponsorship required 

How long is the walk?
Participants are offered a choice taking on the challenge of walking either the 4 mile or 9 mile route, with both rotes taking place on well-lit pavements that are relatively flat around Colchester. 

Both routes will pass St Helena Hospice on Barncroft Close in Highwoods.
Is there an age limit?
 The event is open to all aged 11 and over. 
Is the event open to genders?
Yes the event is open to all genders. Everyone is welcome!
Can I bring spectators?
Of course, we welcome supporters taking part to bring family and friends to see them off on their walk for St Helena Hospice. There will be lots to do and see within our event village so come along and have some fun! 
Can I buy a St Helena T-shirt?
T-shirts can be purchased during registration at a cost of £10. Please note these are adult sizes only. T-shirts can be collected in the lead up to the event. Collection dates will be advertised soon. 
Is there a bag drop?
Unfortunately, we don’t offer a bag drop area. You bring any belongings along with you at your own risk. 
Is there car parking available?
Yes, at the football stadium there will be adequate parking and you will be directed to availabe car parking upon arrival.   
What time can I register on the night and when does the walk start?
Registration opens anytime from 6.30pm and walkers are due to set off from the JobServe Community Stadium in Colchester at 10pm. We do ask that all walkers arrive in good time of the walk starting.  

Do note, we have a full event village kicking off the evening from 6.30pm including a Glass and Lego Walk.  
Where can I source neon themed items for the walk?
Look no further than our registration. Neon packs are now available to purchase for £5 when registering for Midnight Walk and keep an eye on St Helena shops as they will have neon themed items in store in the run up to the event These along with T-shirts can be collected on the night.  
Will there be anything else taking place at the event?
We are excited to kick off the evening at 6.30pm with our Glass and Lego Walk. The event village will be a fun filled addition to the evening with stalls, performers, music, face painting and more to keep you entertained ahead of the walk. 
Will there be refreshments at the starting venue or enroute?

Yes, refreshments will be available on both the 4 mile and 9 mile routes. We will have an in memory stop at the Hospice, at which point you will have the opportunity to purchase some yummy refreshments from our St Helena Catering Team. 

Refreshments will be available upon finishing the Midnight Walk with a botte of water and a yummy treat included in your ticket price. 

Colchester United Football Stadium will be providing refreshments at the event.   

Will there be toilets?
Toilets are available at the event start/finish and also on route at the Hospice.
