St Helena and sponsors, Birkett Long Solicitors, have launched the Birkett Long £50 Challenge and registration is now open. Companies are now being called upon to enter the challenge and support the charity to help local people face incurable illness and bereavement.
The challenge takes place between Saturday 1st June and Monday 30th September. Every team receives £50, supplied by Birkett Long Solicitors, to jumpstart their fundraising on the 1st June and then has four months to turn £50 into hundreds or maybe even thousands of pounds!
Lizzie Deed, St Helena’s Corporate Fundraiser, said: “The Birkett Long £50 Challenge provides the perfect platform for you to promote your business and network with other participating companies. It can also help enhance your profile through engagement with your suppliers and customer base, as well as with family and friends.
“Taking part encourages innovative thinking, team building, and a bit of healthy competition! Why not enter multiple teams from across your departments and pit them against each other to see who can raise the most?
“Over the years, we’ve seen fundraisers from BBQs and plant sales, to quiz nights and bike rides – and even teams taking on the Three Peaks – there are no limits – and we look forward to seeing what ideas they come up with this year!”
Since its inception in 2012, the teams that have taken part in the Birkett Long £50 Challenge have raised over £255,000. This could pay for the St Helena Community Clinical Nurse Specialist team for two and a half weeks, allowing them to deliver personal care, symptom management, advice and support, day and night to those who need it.
