Our annual Pier to Pier walk was another huge success with a fantastic turn out on Sunday. Supporters from all over north east Essex congregated at either Clacton or Walton pier at 10am to complete a sponsored seven or fourteen mile walk in support of the charity.
The atmosphere was incredible at both piers on the day with over 1,000 supporters taking part. Our events team expects to have raised in excess of £60,000 from the day thanks to the incredible turn out, and the generosity of the local community.

We rely massively on fundraisers, like those who took part in this event, to raise the £6.2 million needed each year to care for people facing incurable illness and bereavement. Last year the Pier to Pier walk raised an over amazing £64,000 which is the amount required for us to provide 4 weeks of support and care to those in the community via our Community Nurse Specialist team. Walkers can bring in their sponsorship money to the events team or send a cheque to the Fundraising Office, 1 – 4 The Atrium, Phoenix Square, Colchester CO4 9AS; they can also choose to pay over the phone by credit or debit cards on 01206 931468.
