Over one thousand St Helena Hospice supporters made their way through coloured bubbles for our third Bubble Rush event!
The 5km course through High Woods Country Park united families and friends to support the our services. We are hoping to raise over £48,000 from the event which will go towards providing care to help people living with an incurable illness and their families.
The supporters set off in staggered waves and ran or walked through the beautiful parkland, encountering giant bubble cannons along the way. The atmosphere was buzzing with children and adults alike all enjoying playing in the different coloured foamy bubbles at four ‘bubble stations’.
Wendy Marcon, Events and Challenges Manager at St Helena Hospice, said: “Wow! What a fabulous day we had at the Bubble Rush on Saturday. We were extremely delighted to see so many people join us to take on the bubbly challenge in High Woods Country Park.
The sun shone for all the families taking part, and it really was a fantastic day. Thanks to our sponsors Fred Olsen travel who also had a team taking part, and to all the people who got themselves sponsored to raise funds for St Helena Hospice. Last year, we raised a phenomenal amount from Bubble Rush and I’d encourage everyone who took part to please raise as much sponsorship as possible so that we can bring in even more money this year to support people who need us in the community. The Bubble Rush is growing to be one of the biggest events in our fundraising calendar because it’s such a great day out that all the family can enjoy together.”
“We had a great time, we had so much fun, the bubbles were amazing – our favourite colours were green! Thank you so much to the hospice for putting on such a great event for us all to enjoy!” Bubble Rush participants 2017
