Please note: We now accept volunteer applications from those who are aged 16 and 17 for non patient facing roles including retail and fundraising. For all patient facing roles we can only accept applications from those aged 18+.

Data Protection

We are legally entitled to hold certain personal information about you such as, but not limited to contact details, address, next of kin. Your personal information will only be used by St Helena Hospice in relation to your volunteer role and will not be passed to third parties.

DBS Checks

Some volunteer roles within St Helena Hospice require a certificate from the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS). If the role you have applied for requires a DBS certificate, you will be asked to complete a form following a satisfactory interview.

Health & Safety

All volunteers are requested to undertake on-line mandatory health & safety training. On completion of a satisfactory interview you will receive a link via email with details of how to complete your training. If you are applying for a driver role, you will need to complete and additional questionnaire.

SinglePoint is a 24/7 advice and support helpline which helps to coordinate an individual’s care with the hospice. SinglePoint also works alongside other healthcare services such as GPs, Community Nurses or Specialists.
