This ever popular event will see hundreds of local supporters flock to the seaside in support of St Helena Hospice to walk either 7 or 14 miles between Clacton and Walton Pier.
Team up with friends, family or co-workers and take in the sea air as you get your step count up to support local people in need of hospice services. And why not bring your four-legged friends too, as the walk is dog friendly!
This event is for everybody; take on the walk at your own pace and take time to remember your loved one at our memory stop, where you can leave a message to someone special to you.
Our Pier to Pier event is renowned for its fantastic atmosphere as our walkers are always in high spirits - even during the unexpected downpour at last year’s walk – that’s why we see so many returning faces year on year. If you’ve never taken part in the Pier to Pier walk, there’s no better time to get involved.
In order to cover the cost of organising this event, and to provide every participant with a medal, we are charging a registration fee of £5. Children under the age of 5 go free.
The registration fee only covers the costs of running this event, so we ask each participant to raise a minimum of £30 sponsorship to help support local people who face incurable illness and bereavement. You can set up an online giving page or download a sponsor form here.
Want to support St Helena Hospice further, and look good while doing so? Why not pick up on of an official Pier to Pier Walk T-shirt to wear on the day!
This year, Victoria Jones will be thinking of her husband Ash every step of the way as she walks between Clacton and Walton pier on Sunday 26th April. Ash died at St Helena Hospice in 2018, aged 31 and shared his story to reassure other young people in need of hospice care as his idea of what happens at St Helena changed during his first Day Therapies session in our One Day at a Time men’s group. You can read Ash’s full story here.
Registration is now OPEN!
Pickering is very proud to support St Helena. Many employees, friends and families have benefited from St Helena’s care and facilities in their greatest time of need, and sadly others in the community will do so in the future.
