Make it Matter

Our Make it Matter virtual challenge is now available to complete in any month throughout the year!

Grab your trainers, goggles or cycling helmet and commit to make every kilometre matter for St Helena Hospice. Taking on our virtual challenge is a great way to raise money without having to commit to a specific time, date or location!

Make it Matter this March

Put a spring in your step in March!

Lighter evenings and warmer weather aren't the only incentive for getting out and getting your blood pumping this Spring, we're dropping our registration fee for Make it Matter to £15 for anyone who signs up to complete the virtual challenge in March.

You'll still need to choose your distance and your method for completion, and we'll still give you guidance and support for completing your challenge, but in order to help make every memory matter we're asking you to raise as much sponsorship as possible throughout the month in return for a medal.

Raise £30 or more and you'll receive our bespoke spinning Make it Matter medal at the end of your challenge and every penny of your sponsorship will help local people face incurable illness and bereavement.

How it works:

  1. Sign up and set a goal which stretches you, choose to complete 25km, 50km or 100km
  2. Time to get moving! You can walk, jog, run, cycle or even hop your chosen distance! All we ask is that you track each km on your chosen app or you can print our paper form here
  3. Send us your evidence once you've completed your challenge. You can email us or send it in the post.
  4. We’ll send you your shiny spinning medal! (if you've signed up for our Make it Matter this March event you'll only receive a medal if you raise £30 or more in sponsorship)

It costs £25 to register for our virtual challenge, this amount could pay for enough super soft tissues for all the beds on our Inpatient Unit at The Hospice. When supporting people facing incurable illness and bereavement, being able to offer a tissue is a simple, but effective part of care. Through all the smiles and all the tears we guide those who need us because we believe in making every memory matter.

It's easy to raise additional funds, why not ask your friends and family to sponsor your virtual challenge? You can create a fundraising page on Facebook, JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving, or simply download and print our paper sponsor form here

An extra £20 could pay for home cooked meals for a patient staying at The Hospice for two days.

Please take a moment to read our terms and conditions and frequently asked questions before you register below.
