Make it Matter

Our Make it Matter virtual challenge is available to complete in any month throughout the year! 

Grab your trainers, walking boots or cycling helmet and commit to make every kilometre matter for St Helena Hospice. Taking on our virtual challenge is a great way to raise money without having to commit to a specific time, date or location!

You'll be supporting our Urgent Appeal by taking part in Make it Matter.

By signing up for £15, you'll be helping us to continue to support local people facing incurable illness and bereavement. Our income has been severely impacted by the coronavirus pandemic – we’re still not able to hold our usual events or fundraise in the ways we used to. Your registration fee will help us to face this crisis and keep your local hospice running to support people and families in your community. 

How it works:

  • Sign up and set a goal to complete your challenge before the end of 2020. Choose from either 42.195km (the same distance as a marathon) or 100km.
  • Time to get moving! - You can walk, jog or run your chosen distance, and you don't even have to go out to do it - you could complete laps of your garden, or go up and down the stairs!
  • Track each km on your chosen app or print the paper form here.
  • Send us your evidence once you've completed your challenge. You can email us or send it in the post.
  • We’ll send you a shiny spinning medal!

It's not a requirement to raise sponsorship for this challenge, but if you'd like to we'd be really grateful!

Set up a Fundraising page on Facebook, JustGiving or Virgin Money Giving, share it on your social media and ask your friends and family to sponsor your challenge. Just £20 in sponsorship could help a patient staying at The Hospice to keep their strength up by providing nutritious, home cooked meals for two days.

SinglePoint is a 24/7 advice and support helpline which helps to coordinate an individual’s care with the hospice. SinglePoint also works alongside other healthcare services such as GPs, Community Nurses or Specialists.
