Wills Month

Make or amend your Will this September and support your local hospice.

St Helena Hospice Wills Month returns this September and four local solicitors are waiving their usual fees to write or amend your Will and will instead ask for a suggested donation to the hospice.

Thanks to Birkett Long, Goody Burrett LLP, John Fowlers Solicitors, and Fisher Jones Greenwood, all the money raised from Wills Month will go towards ensuring more local people receive the comfort, dignity and compassion they deserve, right to the end of life.

Having a Will is really important, whatever your age or circumstances - so if you haven’t made your Will yet, September is the perfect time to do so.

Did you know, more than two thirds of people in the UK don’t have a Will?

Making a Will can allow you to ensure your affairs are in order, final wishes are met and your loved ones are looked after in the future.

All the money raised from Wills Month goes towards helping St Helena to be here every step of the way for everyone who needs us, helping life to go on in the face of dying, death and bereavement.

Having a Will is really important, whatever your age or circumstances. Making a will can allow you to ensure your affairs are in order, final wishes are met and your loved ones are looked after in the future and it may reduce inheritance tax.

How does Wills Month work?

  1. Choose a local solicitor from our list below to write or amend your Will
  2. Book your appointment direct with your chosen solicitor (you will find their contact details below) between Monday 30th August – Friday 1st October
  3. At your appointment the solicitor will write or amend your basic, single or mirror Will, waiving their usual fees, and instead asking for a donation to St Helena Hospice.
  4. At the end of your appointment, the solicitor will hand you a St Helena Hospice Wills Month pack which will include information on how to pay in your donation

1 in 5 patients and families cared for by St Helena Hospice are supported by donations made from gifts in Wills.

Our lives are all made up of stories we cherish and that make us who we are. A gift in your Will can help give hope and comfort to another person’s story. Every gift pledged in a Will, large or small, will help St Helena Hospice to be here for future generations that follow in our footsteps.

When the time is right for you to remember a charity in your Will, please remember St Helena Hospice.

When you book, please make sure to reference St Helena Hospice Wills Month to your chosen solicitor.
