We offer support to all those who have been bereaved in north and mid Essex, regardless of the cause of death or when or where the individual has died.
We take referrals from six weeks after a death has occurred and you can self-refer directly or be referred to us by someone who is supporting you, with your consent.
Each person is affected differently by bereavement and we aim to support you by helping your life to go on in the face of bereavement.
We offer time limited, one-to-one or group bereavement support or bereavement counselling, usually at one of our day therapy centre’s.
Our experienced bereavement volunteers offer support over the telephone, in the home or at one of St Helena’s day therapy centre’s.
The support we offer to you is dependent, on and tailored to, your needs, which we identify in your assessment based on the answers you give in your referral.

During the summer and at Christmas we provide an opportunity for families and friends to remember and commemorate the death of their loved one within an informal setting at one of our memorial services run by St Helena’s chaplaincy and bereavement teams.
Without the help and generosity of our fundraisers and donors we wouldn’t be able to offer our Bereavement Support to hundreds of local people each year. We offer a number of ways that people can donate in memory of a loved one to help us to continue this support.

SinglePoint is a 24/7 advice and support helpline which helps to coordinate an individual’s care with the hospice. SinglePoint also works alongside other healthcare services such as GPs, Community Nurses or Specialists.
